The Audi Q6 e-tron has made a statement with its electric performance and now has superb safety features. The all-electric SUV received the coveted “five-star” certification from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), a well-known independent organization that assesses vehicle safety. The Q6 e-tron also earned the title of “Best in Class” for kid safety, outperforming all other vehicles tested in 2023 and 2024.

Euro NCAP evaluates vehicle safety in several categories, including adult occupant protection, child safety, vulnerable road user protection, and standard assistance systems. The Audi Q6 e-tron performed admirably in all categories, scoring an astounding 91% for adult occupant protection and a fantastic 92% for child safety. While these scores indicate an incredibly safe vehicle that provides excellent protection for both drivers and passengers, its 81 percent score for Vulnerable Road Users reflects a typical theme among all large SUVs.

Audi’s staff of 220 safety experts conducts over 1,000 complex crash tests and 20,000 virtual accident simulations each year, and their efforts are paying off.Audi prioritizes the safety of young passengers through several features. The Q6 e-tron is one of the few vehicles in its segment with three “i-Size” seats, two in the back and one in the front. “i-Size” is a European standard that ensures smooth interoperability between child seats of various sizes and automobiles.

When a rear-facing kid seat is placed, the front passenger seat automatically deactivates its airbags. This clever technology “understands” when to deactivate the airbag, avoiding potential harm to the youngster in the event of a crash. Audi has also improved its restraint systems to operate smoothly with child seats.

The Euro NCAP safety rating applies to both the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron, which was unveiled in March, and the forthcoming Sportback model, which is slated to be released in 2025. Audi will debut the Q6 e-tron Sportback at the 2024 Paris Motor Show on October 14th. The SUV and Sportback models, especially their S variants, will share the same great safety features and ratings.

The Q6 e-tron SUV is offered in two battery sizes: 83 kWh and 100 kWh. The 83 kWh battery offers a range of 309 miles, while the 100 kWh battery increases the range to 373 miles. The highest charging capacity of 270 kW enables quick charging with minimal downtime.

The Audi Q6 e-tron SUV begins at $72,070 in Germany. The Sportback variant’s price has yet to be released, but it is believed to be slightly pricier than the SUV model.
