Ford’s electric car portfolio now includes the all-electric Puma Gen-E. This new model adds zero-emission driving to Ford’s best-selling car in Europe, giving customers a compelling option in the tiny crossover sector.
Ford Puma Gen-E features
The Puma Gen-E maintains its sporty look but is powered by a 43 kWh battery with a range of up to 234 miles on the WLTP cycle. A 100 kW DC fast charger takes about 23 minutes to charge a battery from 10% to 80%.
The electric powertrain produces 168 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in only 8 seconds.
Despite its small size, the Puma Gen-E provides plenty of cargo space thanks to the revolutionary GigaBox. The MegaBox boot storage expands to up to 20.3 ft³ with rear seats in place, surpassing the capacity of several larger SUVs. There is a handy 43-liter frunk for storing wires and supplies.
The exterior of the Puma Gen-E features a novel “shield” design that replaces the typical grille. It’s definitely influenced by its larger sibling, the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Inside the cabin, the Puma Gen-E has two displays and the newest generation SYNC 4 infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Wireless phone charging is also standard.
Advanced driver assistance systems are available, including Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering. The higher-end Premium model also includes Dynamic Matrix LED headlights.
Price
The Puma Gen-E is built in Ford’s assembly factory in Craiova, Romania, with electric drive units manufactured in Halewood, United Kingdom. The car is available for order in the UK, starting at $39,568 for the base variant, with deliveries beginning in spring 2025.
