Hyundai New minivan Staria EV seen without camo

The electric version of Hyundai‘s upcoming Staria was spotted for the first time in public without camouflage. The Staria minivan challenges the notion that minivans can’t be cool and is generating a lot of interest online for its sleek design and potential as a multi-purpose vehicle.

The Staria EV is the electric successor to the Starex, Hyundai’s MPV introduced in 2021. It’s built on the ST1 platform, Hyundai’s first commercial EV platform. The ST1 has already spawned several commercial EV configurations, including a refrigerated van and a chassis cab.

Hyundai Staria EV design

The Staria EV is projected to use Hyundai’s latest 84 kWh batteries, implying a vehicle with a rather long range and enough of power for daily driving.

The Staria EV’s design is similar to that of the Staria Lounge, a minivan that can convert into a campervan. This has sparked rumors that Hyundai would develop a camper van version of the Staria EV, increasing its appeal to outdoor aficionados.

The Staria EV shares architectural aspects with the Staria Lounge, but it stands apart with a closed grille that houses the charging outlet. The electric Staria is expected to launch in international markets, with production beginning in Europe in the first half of 2026.
