Mercedes EVs will get access to Tesla's Superchargers in US and Canada

Mercedes is the next automaker to gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network in the United States and Canada. Mercedes confirmed today that this will take place in February. Over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers in the United States and Canada will be made available to Mercedes EVs.

You will require an adaptor, which will be available for $185 from Mercedes dealers in the United States. In Canada, this will arrive in the second quarter (April to June), with pricing to be confirmed closer to market launch.

Mercedes EVs will be able to use the Plug & Charge feature at Tesla Superchargers. This means that all you have to do is plug in the car, and the charging session will begin automatically, with payment completed in the background when the charging session is complete.

Authorized dealers will perform a complimentary software upgrade for Mercedes EVs. Customers who are eligible will be contacted directly by their local dealer to set up the software upgrade. Charging can also be activated via the Mercedes-Benz app or the MBUX infotainment system.

Furthermore, Tesla’s Superchargers will be incorporated into Mercedes’ Navigation with Electric Intelligence, which automatically selects the most economical, time-saving route and displays charging stations and times. Furthermore, Mercedes me Charge provides comprehensive visibility of charger locations, as well as real-time charger availability, status, and pricing.
