Porsche Macan EV introduction January 25

The Porsche Macan EV has been keenly anticipated by both Porsche fanatics and fans of electric vehicles. The countdown has begun, with the unveiling now officially slated for January 25, 2024.

Along with the announcement date, we received a teaser image of the Macan EV’s darkened taillight. Clicking the “Electrify Now” link takes you to a page where you can sign up for the Macan EV newsletter, but there is no other information.

After years of teasers and spy pictures, the wait for the Macan EV is nearly over. Porsche has been feeding us bits of information, so we know a lot about the impending SUV. The Macan EV is likely to have a coupe-like design and a capable drivetrain.

Porsche claims a phenomenal drag coefficient of 0.25, compared to the current Macan’s 0.35. The increased aerodynamics are expected to result in a range of roughly 483 km, pending EPA testing results, which is noteworthy for a performance-focused SUV.

Under the elegant façade, the Macan EV should have two permanently excited electric motors that can provide up to 603 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque for Turbo variants. The new PPE architecture is powered by an 800V battery with a capacity of 100kWh. A 10% to 80% charge will take less than 22 minutes using a 400-volt charging station, and possibly significantly faster on an 800V one.

Porsche also showcased the interior, with three large screens and an AR HUD.
