Avatr Technology, funded by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, has introduced the upgraded Avatr 11, which includes extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models for the SUV.
The Changan subsidiary today unveiled the revised Avatr 11, the second model after the Avatr 07 SUV to offer both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) capabilities.
The Avatr 11, the first Avatr model and the first luxury vehicle in China to come standard with Huawei Inside, Huawei’s full-stack smart car solution, was unveiled in August 2022.
The SUV was previously only available in BEV configurations, but on August 21, Avatr introduced Kunlun, an extended-range technology that was first used by the Avatr 07, which went on sale on September 26.
The Avatr 11 measures 4895 mm in length, 1970 mm in width, and 1601 mm in height, with a 2975 mm wheelbase.
The SUV comes in two EREV models, with starting prices of RMB 279,900 ($38,480) and RMB 299,900, respectively.
Its BEV models have three starting prices: RMB 339,900, RMB 369,900, and RMB 429,900.
The Avatr 11 EREV is powered by CATL’s Freevoy battery pack, which was released on October 24 and is designed specifically for hybrid vehicles.
The battery pack has a capacity of 39.05 kWh and a range of 225 km. It has a maximum charge multiplier of 3 C and takes 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.
With full fuel and full charge, the vehicle has a CLTC range of up to 1,065 kilometers.
The Avatr 11 EREV is based on the Kunlun extended-range technology, and Avatr claims that the battery will remain functional in temperatures ranging from -35°C to 65°C.
Both EREV types are single-motor, rear-wheel drive cars capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 200 km/h.
The Avatr 11 BEV is powered by a CATL Li-ion ternary battery pack with 116.79 Wh of capacity.
The cheapest variant of the BEV is a single-motor rear-wheel drive car with a CLTC range of up to 815 kilometers. The other two options are dual-motor four-wheel drive vehicles with a CLTC range of 760 kilometers.
The Avatr 11 BEV is powered by Huawei’s latest generation DriveONE 800V silicon carbide electric drive system, and the four-wheel drive version can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.9 seconds.
