Chinese electric car manufacturer Xpeng is increasing its presence in the Middle East with the introduction of two models, the G6 and G9, in the United Arab Emirates.
Xpeng recently collaborated with its UAE partner Ali & Sons Holding LLC to debut the G6 and G9 SUV models in Dubai, marking the company’s official entry into the UAE market and a key milestone in its Middle Eastern strategic footprint, according to a press release issued last night.
The company, along with Ali & Sons subsidiary GSM, has already created a sales channel in the UAE and plans to open another store in Abu Dhabi next year, in addition to the one in Dubai, according to Xpeng.
Xpeng will use Ali & Sons’ operational knowledge and local strengths to quickly integrate into the UAE market, according to the company, as well as the differentiation of its own smart goods to increase competitiveness.
Ali & Sons and Xpeng will develop a comprehensive distribution network in the UAE and, following the release of the G6 and G9, will introduce the X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) to further strengthen the product range, according to Mohammad Al Dhaheri, managing director of Ali & Sons Automotive.
On February 22, Xpeng announced dealer relationships in UAE, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Jordan, and Lebanon. The Chinese electric vehicle maker’s partners in these five countries are:
Xpeng has introduced products throughout the Middle East, including Israel, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates, according to a news release issued yesterday.
Xpeng is the best-selling brand of mid- to large-size pure electric SUVs in Israel, according to the company.
