Xpeng will offer an 8-seat variation to the X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) tomorrow, following a total of over 20,000 deliveries earlier this month.
“December 1, for which we have been preparing for a long time,” Xpeng posted on Weibo today. The 8-seater Xpeng X9 will be released tomorrow, according to the company’s poster, with no other details provided.
The X9, which debuted on January 1, is the flagship model for Xpeng’s SEPA (Smart Electric Platform Architecture) 2.0 architecture. The MPV is presently only available in seven-seat configurations, with a starting price of RMB 359,800 ($49,680), Xpeng’s highest pricing to date. Deliveries began on January 16.
Xpeng X9 Specs
The Xpeng X9 is a newly launched, fully electric, seven-seater MPV designed for family use. It features a futuristic design and is built on Xpeng’s advanced SEPA 2.0 platform. With a length of 5.3 meters and a spacious interior, it offers three seating rows in a 2+2+3 configuration and advanced functionality such as electronically foldable seats, creating up to 2,554 liters of storage space.
Key specifications include:
- Powertrain Options: Front-wheel drive (FWD) with a 235 kW motor or all-wheel drive (AWD) with a total output of 370 kW (503 PS). The AWD variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h.
- Battery: Options range from 84.5 kWh (LFP) to 101.5 kWh (NMC), supporting 800V fast charging, enabling up to 300 km of range in just 10 minutes. Maximum range is 702 km (CLTC cycle).
- Interior Features: Includes a minimalist design with a large central screen, a pop-up 21.4″ rear screen, and luxury touches like a built-in fridge. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) include City NGP for enhanced autonomous driving in urban areas (available on Max trims).
- Safety and Innovation: Features industry-first unibody aluminum die-cast structures for enhanced rigidity and safety. The turning radius is compact at 10.8 meters, aided by rear-wheel steering.
Pricing starts at approximately 359,800 RMB (around $50,800 USD) for the base FWD model, going up to 419,800 RMB ($59,300 USD) for the AWD Performance Max trim
