At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show, Afeela, the electric vehicle company formed by a cooperation between Sony and Honda, showed a nearly production-ready version of its first vehicle, the Afeela 1. This midsize liftback, initially teased at CES last year, boasts advanced technology and great specs.
Afeela 1 Features
The Afeela 1 is 193.5 inches in length, making it slightly shorter than the Lucid Air. However, its wheelbase allows for enough inside room. Inside the interior, a panoramic network of screens spans the dashboard, and a yoke-style steering wheel provides an unimpeded view. Sustainable materials were employed throughout the inside, while Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Technologies provided an immersive audio experience.
The Afeela 1 is powered by a two-motor all-wheel-drive system. Each motor produces 241 horsepower, offering rapid acceleration. The 91 kWh lithium-ion battery has an estimated EPA range of up to 300 miles. The vehicle supports DC fast charging at up to 150 kW and has a NACS-style charge port.
The Advanced Afeela Intelligent Drive system includes 40 cameras and sensors. The system will be able to operate on both highways and urban roads, albeit driver supervision is still required because this is only a Level 2+ system. Sony says that the Level 3 update will be available sometime in the future.
Afeela 1 Price
The Afeela 1 will be available in two trim levels: Afeela 1 Origin and Afeela 1 Signature. Both variants are priced at $89,900 and $102,900, respectively, and come with a three-year subscription to a suite of in-car amenities including as an AI-powered personal assistant and semi-automated driver assistance systems. Delivery of the Signature trim will begin in mid-2026, followed by the Origin trim in 2027.
