The L03 is notable as the first Mona-series model to offer a choice between pure battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (EREV) powertrains, and as the second overall model in the Mona lineup following the M03 sedan. It’s set for a global rollout spanning dozens of markets, positioning it as one of the more widely distributed entries in XPeng’s affordable EV push.

The BEV version uses a CALB-supplied LFP battery in two capacities: 56 kWh and 69 kWh, delivering CLTC-rated ranges of 525 km and 625 km respectively. A WLTP-cycle figure of 440 km has been reported for the 69 kWh pack, though buyers should treat WLTP numbers as market-specific and  unconfirmed for most regions pending official homologation. The single rear motor produces 183 kW, with 0–100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. Charging runs on a 400V architecture rather than the 800V platform used on the G6, with DC fast-charging peaking around 149 kW and a 10–80% top-up in roughly 19–20 minutes. AC onboard charging rate has not been officially disclosed. The EREV variant pairs the same 183 kW motor with a 1.5L, 70 kW range extender and a smaller 37.2 kWh battery, offering a CLTC electric-only range of roughly 250–315 km and a combined range up to around 1,150–1,330 km — a relevant option for buyers in markets with thinner fast-charging networks.

In China, pre-sale pricing for the L03 ranges from roughly $21,100 to $24,400 USD across six trims, with the official market launch set for July 16, 2026. Pricing for international markets has not yet been confirmed. The L03 realistically suits budget-conscious commuters and small families who want a tech-heavy SUV without paying flagship prices. Within XPeng’s own lineup, it slots below the G6 and sits alongside the Mona M03 sedan as a sister model sharing the same sub-brand positioning and platform philosophy. Externally, it’s built to compete directly with the BYD Atto 3 and Geely EX5, two of the best-known budget electric SUVs in similar price brackets. For a direct spec-and-price comparison, the Geely EX5 is the closest match and the strongest angle for a head-to-head.
