PROS

  1. Flash charging replenishes the battery from 10–70% in about 5 minutes
  2. Up to 620 km CLTC range on the RWD Flash Charging variant
  3. Competitive pricing under $25,000, with CTB structural battery integration and external V2L discharge support

CONS

  1. CLTC range figures aren't directly comparable to WLTP/EPA ratings; real-world range is likely lower
  2. Currently confirmed for the Chinese market only, with no official pricing or launch timeline for other regions

The Fang Cheng Bao Ti3, sold internationally as the BYD Ti3, is a mid-size electric SUV from BYD’s off-road-focused Fang Cheng Bao sub-brand. It sits at the entry point of the Fang Cheng Bao lineup, positioned below the larger Ti7. Built on BYD’s EVO+ platform, the Ti3 is offered in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations, with boxy, off-road-styled proportions roughly comparable in size to a Toyota RAV4. The current generation is notable for introducing BYD’s Flash Charging Edition, which pairs a second-generation Blade Battery with ultra-fast DC charging hardware — a first for the Ti3 line.

The Flash Charging RWD variant uses a 75.6 kWh Blade Battery 2.0 pack, rated for up to 620 km of range on the CLTC cycle. The AWD variant, built on the same platform, is rated up to 565 km CLTC. WLTP or EPA-equivalent range figures have not been published for either version; CLTC ratings typically run higher than results under Western test cycles, so real-world range should be treated as lower than the quoted figures. On charging, the Flash Charging Edition supports DC rates that take the battery from 10–70% in around 5 minutes and 10–97% in roughly 9 minutes at BYD’s megawatt flash-charging stations, with charging time increasing by only about 3 minutes at temperatures as low as -30°C. AC onboard charging specs have not been officially disclosed. A separate, lower-cost entry trim launched in August 2026 uses a smaller 65.3 kWh Blade battery for 510 km CLTC range and does not include flash-charging hardware.

In China, the Ti3 Flash Charging Edition is priced from 153,800 to 169,800 yuan (approximately $22,800–$25,200), while the standard entry trim starts at 143,800 yuan (about $21,300). Pricing and availability outside China have not been confirmed. The Ti3 suits buyers who want SUV styling with genuine daily-usable range and fast charging, rather than dedicated off-road capability. Within Fang Cheng Bao’s own lineup, it sits below the larger Ti7 and the PHEV-based Bao 5, giving the sub-brand an entry point into its rugged-SUV identity. Externally, it competes with the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV5, and Geely EX5 on price and segment, with the Model Y standing out as the closest match for a direct spec-and-price comparison given similar range and positioning.
