Alpine A290 launches with €38,700 Price In Europe

Alpine, Renault’s sporty sub-brand, has introduced the A290, a Renault 5 E-Tech-based EV. The A290 is available in four major configurations: A290 GT, the entry-level model, A290 GT Premium, A290 GT Performance, and A290 GTS.

Alpine A290 GT

The hot hatch was launched in June and is now available beginning at €38,700 for the basic A290 GT trim. This one has a 130 kW motor with 300 Nm torque and a 52 kWh battery pack good for 380 kilometers, according to WLTP.

And, despite being a basic model, the A290 GT includes a Formula 1-style button on the steering wheel for swift overtakes, thus the switch’s moniker “OV”. The GT is also outfitted with Michelin Sport EV tires, 19-inch alloy wheels, a Nappa leather steering wheel, heated front seats, tinted windows, automatic air conditioning, and ambient lighting.

Alpine A290 GT Premium

The GT Premium has the same powertrain and battery pack but features a two-tone paint job with a black roof, matt blue roof line, and Alpine Blue Brembo brake calipers. This setup requires €41,700.

Alpine A290 GT Performance

The GT Performance has a more powerful 160 kW motor, but the same torque, and is fueled by the same 52 kWh battery as the other two models. It also features red Brembo brake calipers and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. The asking price is €41,900.

Alpine A290 GTS

Finally, the GTS costs €44,700 and has the more powerful GT Performance powertrain and GT Premium features.

Alpine A290 Colors

Alpine is also producing a rare A290 Premiere Edition for €46,200, which will be available in four variants: black pearl bodywork named Premiere Edition, pearlescent white two-tone paint job for the Premiere Edition Beta, bleu Premiere Edition, and grise Premiere Edition. The firm only produces 1,995 of them, a symbolic number representing the year Alpine was formed.

Alpine A290 Discounts

The Alpine A290 is available in Germany and France, and it qualifies for a €4,000 refund in France.
