The Lynk & Co 02 is a five-door compact electric crossover from Geely-backed brand Lynk & Co, priced from €35,495 in Europe. It has a 66 kWh usable battery, a WLTP range of up to 445 km, and charges at up to 150 kW DC. It is Lynk & Co’s first battery-electric vehicle sold in Europe, and it runs on rear-wheel drive only via a single 200 kW motor. In China it is sold as the Z20.
The 02 uses a 69 kWh gross / 66 kWh usable NMC battery pack. Lynk & Co quotes a WLTP range of 445 km for the More trim and 435 km for the Core trim — both WLTP, not real-world estimates. Real-world range in moderate conditions is closer to 370–390 km based on the car’s rated efficiency of approximately 17.2 kWh/100 km.
The platform is Geely’s SEA2 architecture, the same base used by the Zeekr X, Smart #1, and Volvo EX30. That matters for buyers evaluating charging infrastructure compatibility and long-term software support, as all four cars share structural DNA within the same group.
The 02 supports AC charging at up to 11 kW via a CCS Type 2 port, which covers both home wallbox sessions and public AC stations. A full charge from near-empty on an 11 kW connection takes approximately 6.5 hours.
For DC fast charging, the car accepts up to 150 kW peak and Lynk & Co has stated a 30-minute DC charge time. The brand has not confirmed which state-of-charge window that figure applies to — it should be read as provisional until independently tested. At 150 kW and 66 kWh usable, a 10–80% session under ideal conditions would typically take around 25–28 minutes; real-world sessions at public chargers usually run longer. The car supports Autocharge and Plug & Charge at compatible CCS stations.
In Germany, the Lynk & Co 02 starts at €35,495 for the Core trim. The More trim, which adds vegan leather, a heated steering wheel, 360-degree camera, and a selfie camera, carries a small premium above that.
The 02 is not on official sale in Nigeria, Kenya, or South Africa. No grey-market import pricing exists yet at scale, as the European launch only completed in late 2024. Landed cost in West Africa for a European-spec unit would be significantly above the base price once freight, customs, and clearing fees are factored in.
The 02 competes directly in the €35,000–€42,000 compact electric crossover bracket. Its three closest rivals:
Volkswagen ID.3 — Starts around €35,000–€38,000 depending on trim and market. Front-wheel drive, 77 kWh battery in the long-range version, up to 550 km WLTP. The ID.3 has a longer European sales history, a wider service network, and better real-world efficiency. The 02 has more torque, RWD dynamics, and a younger design.
Smart #1 — The most direct comparison. The Smart #1 also runs on Geely’s SEA2 platform, starts around €35,000–€39,000, and targets the same B-SUV buyer. WLTP range is slightly lower than the 02 on equivalent trims. The Smart #1 has been on sale longer and has more established dealer coverage.
BYD Atto 3 — Available in Europe from approximately €36,000–€38,000. Front-wheel drive, 60.5 kWh usable battery (standard range) or 84.8 kWh (extended), up to 420 km WLTP on the larger pack. The Atto 3 is a known quantity in several African markets via grey-market channels. The 02 matches it on WLTP range with a smaller battery, reflecting slightly better efficiency on paper.
Within Lynk & Co’s own lineup, the 02 sits below the 01 PHEV — a larger, combustion-equipped SUV on a different platform — and above nothing, since it is the brand’s first BEV. The Lynk & Co 08 PHEV, which launched in Europe from €52,995 in mid-2025, sits in a higher tier altogether.
The 02 is a practical fit for European urban or suburban households buying in the €35,000–€40,000 bracket who want a compact crossover with RWD performance, above-average WLTP range for the segment, and a strong tech spec. At 4,460 mm long with up to 1,400 litres of cargo space with the rear seats folded, it fits a small family or active couple reasonably well. It is not an obvious fleet choice at this price, and it is not yet accessible to buyers in most African markets through formal channels.
