$30,000 Tesla Cybercab unveiled coming in 2027

Tesla presented the Cybercab during a special event on the Warner Bros. film lot in California, which included demonstrations and a lengthy interview with CEO Elon Musk.

The Cybercab is a self-driving robotaxi that features two seats, a large trunk, butterfly wing doors, and no steering wheel or pedals. The event highlighted the Cybercab’s self-driving capabilities without going into specifics. The car appears to use onboard cameras, as well as Tesla’s FSD, to power its self-driving capabilities.

The Cybercab has a light bar in the front that houses matrix lights, similar to the Cubertruck’s. There’s another light bar for the brake lights in the back.

There are two butterfly wing doors and one trunk hatch, which offer a large storage area for luggage. There is no rear window – nor should there be, as there is no driver and no need for a physical view out the back. The Cybercab seats two individuals in a basic interior with a window and a large central screen.

Instead of using a regular socket, the Cybercab charges by wireless induction. It would enable the vehicle to self-charge when the time came. Musk did not give any details on the Cybercab’s performance or range. He did mention that its anticipated operating cost is $0.20 per mile, compared to $1 for public transportation.

Tesla Cybercab Price and Launch date

Musk said Tesla plans to sell the Cybercab for “less than” $30,000 when it comes in 2026. Musk stated that he was mistaken about his estimations and that it could arrive in 2027 instead.
