Hyundai has unveiled the Creta Electric in India, marking a big step toward electrification of its portfolio in the local market. This new model introduces a zero-emission powertrain option to the popular Creta series.
The Creta Electric’s exterior has been redesigned with subtle yet distinctive design characteristics. The front end has a split grille design with a pixelated pattern. The lower bumper features active aero flaps for increased efficiency, and the rear bumper has a pixelated pattern. It even receives an aluminum-style skid plate. The EV has freshly designed 17-inch aero-optimized wheels, and the launch version is offered in a stunning Ocean Blue metallic paint.
Hyundai Creta Features
While Hyundai has not revealed the specifics of the powertrain, it is expected that the front wheels will be powered by a single electric motor. The business promises a rapid 0-62 mph acceleration time of 7.9 seconds, which is faster than the gasoline-powered Creta N Line. Buyers will have a choice between two battery packs. A 42 kWh unit has an estimated range of 242 miles, while a 51.4 kWh unit boasts an astonishing 294 miles on a single charge. These figures are based on the local ARAI testing cycle.
Hyundai claims a 10-80% charge in 58 minutes using a DC charger. For home charging, the normal 11 kW AC wallbox will fully charge the smaller battery in 4 hours. The SUV also has a small frunk for charging cords and other small goods. The charging port is neatly placed behind the Hyundai symbol on the front bumper.
Hyundai Creta Availability and Price
The official unveiling is scheduled for January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Show in India. The initial availability will be focused on the Indian market, but Hyundai is considering expanding it to other regions in the future.
