Janguar, a British automaker, has launched a new concept car that showcases its vision for the electric future, following a controversial rebranding campaign and abandonment of a nearly production-ready vehicle. The Type 00, a futuristic electric vehicle, will make its debut at Miami Art Week.
The Type 00 is a drastic departure from Jaguar’s current design language. The front end has a distinctive, rectangular grille flanked by thin headlights. The lack of standard A-pillars results in an almost wraparound windshield, which improves the concept’s streamlined silhouette.
Jaguar‘s new logo and branding feature a striking “strikethrough” symbol. This rectangular shape appears prominently on the front and back of the concept car, establishing a new visual identity for the company. We’re not sure if this design element will be on production vehicles, but it certainly makes a statement about the concept.
The Type 00’s interior is equally basic, with a focus on clean lines and innovative technology. Cameras are strategically placed around the car to compensate for the lack of a back window.
The Design Vision Concept is merely a design study, but the manufacturer has promised us a reinvented production automobile in late 2025. The electric four-door GT will be constructed in the UK.
