The world’s first flying car race recently took place in Texas, and it looked like something from a science fiction film. The race, known as the “Formula One of the skies,” was held at the esteemed UP.Summit and showcased the future of personal air mobility.
Four completely electric Jetson At speeds of up to 102 km/h, one flying vehicle navigated sharp turns and daring maneuvers as it faced off against another on a specially designed runway. The audience was enthralled with the exhilarating show, which gave them a preview of an exciting new era in aviation.

Made of lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber, the Jetson One is a single-seat, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The Jetson One weighs only 115 kg, of which 60 kg is devoted to its battery pack. It can fly up to 457 meters and stay in the air for roughly 20 minutes on a single charge.
The Jetson One has a ballistic parachute system for emergencies and can continue to fly even if one rotor fails for safety.
By early November, the flying car’s current price of $128,000 is anticipated to increase to $148,000. Surprisingly, operating one in the US does not require a pilot’s license. “Everyone is a pilot” is Jetson’s motto, which emphasizes their goal of enabling more people to fly.
Palmer Luckey, the creator of Oculus VR, received the first Jetson One in September. The desire to own and race flying cars is obviously becoming a reality, as evidenced by the more than 550 orders that have already been placed.
