VinFast VF6 is priced to compete rather than to impress. Since European sales opened in France, Germany, and the Netherlands, it’s gone after the crowded B-segment electric SUV class on price, not badge recognition — and so far that’s the whole pitch.
In Europe, the VF6 starts at €33,990 for the Eco trim, with the Plus trim from €37,990. That’s below a lot of the compact EV competition in the same size class. VinFast backs it with a seven-year, 160,000 km warranty, longer than what most rivals put on paper.
Powertrain and range (WLTP)
Both European trims share a single front-mounted motor rated at 150 kW and 330 Nm, fed by a 59.6 kWh LFP battery. WLTP range tops out at 410 km on the Eco trim and 379 km on the Plus — the gap probably comes down to wheel size and trim weight, not a different battery. DC fast charging takes the pack from 10-70% in a claimed 25 minutes. Fine, not exceptional.
Specs shift by market, and not by a small margin. Right-hand-drive versions run 174 bhp (Earth trim) or 201 bhp (Wind and Wind Infinity), tested on a different range cycle at 463-468 km, with 0-100 km/h around 8.5-8.9 seconds. If you’re comparing VinFast VF6 numbers across regions, check which market and which test cycle you’re actually looking at — VinFast tunes this car differently depending on where it lands.
Design and interior
Torino Design handled the styling, and it shows more in the details than the silhouette: an LED-lit V-badge grille, creased tailgate panels, 19-inch wheels on the upper trim. Inside, most functions — climate included — get routed through one large central touchscreen. Early reviews have flagged this as a step too far into software for things that used to just be a button.
Where it fits
The VinFast VF6 sits next to the BYD Atto 3, Kia Syros EV, MG Windsor EV, and similar compact electric SUVs, most of which have longer track records and more built-out service networks. VinFast’s answer is price, warranty length, and in some markets, bundled charging through its own network. Whether that outweighs a thin service history outside Vietnam is the reservation that comes up again and again in early ownership reports.
For anyone cross-shopping the segment, the trade-off is simple enough: a genuinely sharp price and battery warranty, against a brand still building out support where it hasn’t sold cars before. The spec sheet holds up. Everything around it is what’s unproven.
