The Chinese auto giant BYD has officially taken the wraps off its latest creations: the Han L sedan and Tang L crossover. These high-end electric vehicles showcase the brand’s latest design language and offer ridiculous levels of performance thanks to their new 30,000 RPM electric motors.

The Han L sedan has a more muscular and sophisticated look than its predecessor, but still sharing some similarities. A genuinely aerodynamic silhouette is produced by flush door handles, a streamlined roofline, and elongated headlamps joined by a chrome accent. Advanced driver-assistance capabilities are hinted at by a LiDAR sensor on the roof. The Han L is marginally larger than the typical Han sedan, measuring 198.8 inches in length, 77.2 inches in width, and 59.3 inches in height with a wheelbase of 116.9 inches.

A variety of powertrain options are available for the Han L. There is already an absurdly powerful 500 kW (670 hp) electric motor in the rear-wheel-drive version. But the standout model is the all-wheel-drive model. The AWD Han L can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds thanks to its dual electric motors, which have a combined output of 810 kW (1,085 horsepower).

Other powertrain alternatives are available. Additionally, BYD provides plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains for the Han L. A 1.5-liter internal combustion engine and a 200 kW (268 hp) electric motor are combined in the DM-i model. For even greater power, the DM-p version adds a second 200 kW electric motor.

The Tang L crossover differs from its standard version in a more noticeable way. It has a modern appearance thanks to headlights and slim LED running lights built into the front bumper. Its tech appeal is increased with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and an active air intake. The Tang L has a wheelbase of 116.1 inches and measures 198.4 inches in length, 78.6 inches in width, and 69.3 inches in height.

Both RWD and AWD electric powertrain options are available for the Tang L, with the AWD version producing the same 810 kW (1,085 hp) output. As a result, the Tang L can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in an amazing 3.9 seconds.
