BYD Seal 06 GT revealed the Ocean-M concept at the Beijing car show in late April, and the production version is about to be unveiled.
Zhang Zhuo, head of BYD’s Ocean series, said today on Weibo that the production version of the Ocean-M concept will be known as the Seal 06 GT.

The Seal 06 GT is an all-electric mid-size car based on BYD’s most recent all-electric platform, the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, Zhang said today.
The vehicle would have a variety of BYD’s world-first innovations, resulting in exceptional performance in terms of aesthetics, safety, comfort, intelligence, and efficiency, he added.
BYD debuted the Ocean-M at the 2024 Beijing auto show, claiming it as the industry’s first rear-wheel-drive performance hatchback.
BYD started the Ocean-M would be built on its new all-electric platform and powered by a new generation of C2B (cell-to-body) batteries.
Launched Date
The vehicle will be introduced on August 30 at the Chengdu auto show, with the goal of becoming the GT model of choice for young people, he added.
This year’s Chengdu car show will start on August 30 and run until September 8. Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China.

According to BYD, the production Ocean-M will go on sale in the third quarter of this year for between RMB 150,000 ($21,020) and RMB 200,000.
