The Changan Nevo A06 is a mid-size sedan from Nevo (Qiyuan), Changan Automobile’s electrified sub-brand, positioned as an entry-to-mid offering in the brand’s growing EV lineup. It’s a four-door D-segment sedan with a liftback-style rear, sold in both battery-electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) form, and every version — BEV or EREV — runs rear-wheel drive. What makes it notable isn’t flash: it’s the first sedan built on Changan’s new SDA (Software-Defined Car) platform, positioning it as a technology testbed for the brand’s next generation of electric vehicles rather than just another new model.
On the powertrain side, the BEV comes in two configurations. The base version pairs a 120 kW motor with a 51.48 kWh LFP battery for a CLTC-rated range of 510 km, while the higher-output version steps up to a 210 kW motor and a 63.18 kWh LFP battery, extending CLTC range to 630 km and dropping the 0-100 km/h sprint to 6.2 seconds. The EREV variant uses a smaller 29.39 kWh LFP battery for a 240 km CLTC electric-only range, backed by a 1.5-liter range extender for a combined range of roughly 2,120 km. Higher trims run on an 800V silicon-carbide architecture with a 6C-capable battery, which points to strong DC fast-charging potential — but Changan hasn’t published a confirmed 10-80% DC charging time or peak charging rate, so treat any specific charging-speed figure for this model as unconfirmed until official numbers land.
Pricing starts at roughly RMB 109,900 (about $15,400) for the base BEV trim, climbing to around RMB 149,900 (about $21,000) for the top BEV configuration, with EREV trims starting slightly higher at RMB 119,900. This is a China-market launch only for now, with no confirmed timeline for other regions. The Nevo A06 realistically suits budget-conscious commuters and small families who want a spacious sedan with real electric range but don’t need flagship-level performance or tech. Within Changan’s own lineup, it slots between the smaller Nevo A05 and the larger Nevo A07, while sharing platform DNA with the Nevo E07 SUV. Externally, it goes head-to-head with the BYD Qin L, Geely Galaxy A7, and Nissan N7 — all similarly priced D-segment EVs targeting the same value-driven buyer. For a direct spec-and-price comparison, the BYD Qin L is the closest match.
