Leapmotor D19: The Next-Gen Flagship SUV for 2026
Built on Leapmotor‘s cutting-edge D platform, the company’s flagship D19 full-size SUV was formally unveiled on October 16. The Leapmotor D19 is scheduled to go on sale in the first half of 2026 and will be offered in both electric (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions.
With the EREV providing 500 km of pure electric range and the EV providing up to 720 km, the SUV is expected to perform admirably. Notably, the D19 sets new standards for intelligent, high-end SUVs with its dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chips and onboard oxygen generator.

Design: Technology Meets Natural Aesthetics
The design of the Leapmotor D19 is based on the company’s “Technology Natural Aesthetics 2.0” style. It has a three-stage headlight cluster at the front that can also be used as a projector. The lower grille is smart and opens or closes automatically depending on the weather. A lidar on the roof improves its advanced driving skills.
The SUV has a 1,958 mm-wide taillight with 11,025 LED units on the back, which makes it look more modern.

Dimensions and Color Options
The Leapmotor D19 is more than 5.2 meters long, almost 2 meters wide, and has a wheelbase of more than 3.1 meters, making it a big and powerful vehicle on the road.
There are five colors for the outside: green, white, silver, gray, and black.
Performance and Powertrain
EV Variant
The Leapmotor D19 EV has a total power output of 540 kW (724 hp) and is powered by a 115 kWh CATL battery pack. This battery is the only one that uses both lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium materials. This gives it the best balance of performance and longevity.

The EV goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and can charge at 1,000V, giving it 350 km of range in just 15 minutes.
EREV Variant
An 800V high-voltage platform and a range-extending engine are used in the EREV model. It has two electric motors that can produce 400 kW (536 hp) in total.
It has a pure electric range of 500 kilometers when equipped with an 80.3 kWh battery. In just 15 minutes, fast charging can raise the battery’s level from 30% to 80%.
Smart Technology and Comfort
By combining two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chipsets, the Leapmotor D19 can process up to 1,280 TOPS of data. To ensure seamless operation and increased safety, one chip controls advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), while the other powers the intelligent cockpit.
The first onboard oxygen generator in the industry, which can produce up to 8 liters of oxygen per minute, is a noteworthy innovation. This feature, which reflects Leapmotor’s emphasis on comfort and adaptability, serves tourists traveling to high-altitude areas like Tibet.

Combining state-of-the-art technology, opulent design, and useful innovation, the Leapmotor D19 is a daring step forward for the brand. With its distinctive oxygen generator, Snapdragon-powered intelligence, and 720 km electric range, the D19 has the potential to completely change what buyers anticipate from a full-size electric SUV.
