PROS

  1. 400 kW peak DC charging gets a 10–80% top-up done in under 16 minutes.
  2. Power spread across trims (402 hp to 1,139 hp) means buyers can pick performance level without switching body styles.
  3. Coupe roofline improves aerodynamics (Cd 0.23 vs. 0.25 for the SUV) without a major range penalty.

CONS

  1. EPA range isn't confirmed yet, so real-world figures are still an estimate.
  2. Pricing starts steep and climbs fast — a well-optioned Turbo can clear $200,000.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric has spent six years as the sportier-roofed sibling to the standard Cayenne SUV, sold only with gas or plug-in hybrid power. That changes for 2026. The Cayenne Coupe Electric arrives as a third powertrain choice, sold alongside the existing 3.0L V6 and E-Hybrid Coupe rather than replacing either of them.

The electric Coupe rides on Porsche’s PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture, the same 800-volt underpinnings used in the Macan Electric. It isn’t a retrofit of the combustion car’s chassis. That distinction matters because the battery pack, 113 kWh gross and roughly 108 kWh usable, is built into the floor structure rather than bolted beneath a gas-car platform.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric Three trims, one battery, very different personalities:

  • Cayenne Coupe Electric: 402 hp (435 hp with Launch Control), 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds
  • Cayenne S Coupe Electric: 536 hp (657 hp with Launch Control), 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds
  • Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric: roughly 845 hp (up to 1,139 hp with Launch Control), 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds — for reference, that ties the 911 Turbo S

All three share the same 800V system and can pull up to 400 kW on a DC fast charger, taking the pack from 10-80% in under 16 minutes under ideal conditions. Porsche is also offering an optional wireless charging pad rated at 11 kW: park over it and it starts charging on its own, no cable involved. It’s the first Porsche to offer that.

Range figures are WLTP for now: up to 642 km (about 399 miles) for the base Coupe, tapering to 623 km (about 387 miles) for the Turbo. EPA figures haven’t been published yet. Expect them to land lower once confirmed, likely somewhere in the 300-350 mile range based on how Porsche’s other WLTP-to-EPA conversions have tracked.

Pricing starts at $113,800 for the base Coupe Electric, climbs to $131,200 for the S, and tops out at $168,000 for the Turbo, before options. Porsche’s options list is famously not short.

What’s more interesting than the power figures, and 1,139 hp in something with a hatch is genuinely hard to ignore, is Porsche’s decision to keep selling the gas and hybrid Coupe right alongside the electric one instead of forcing a switch. That’s a deliberate hedge. Buyers who want the flyline roofline but don’t want to deal with charging logistics can still get a V6 or plug-in hybrid version. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric is aimed at people who’ve already decided an EV works for them and want the sportier body over the standard SUV shape.

Cross-shop it against something like the Lucid Gravity, which peaks at a similar 400 kW but carries a slightly larger 123 kWh pack for a claimed 450-mile EPA range, and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe Electric is trading some range for what’s presumably sharper handling and Porsche’s usual chassis tuning. Whether that trade makes sense depends on what someone’s cross-shopping against, and how much they actually care about a coupe roofline on an SUV in the first place.

The bigger story might be for Porsche as a company rather than for any one buyer. This is the second PPE-based EV after the Macan, and the first full-size one. If the platform scales from a compact SUV to a full-size SUV without losing efficiency along the way, that’s a decent signal for where the rest of the lineup, Cayenne SUV included, is headed next.
