Qoray Launches EV Charging Station at Federal Palace Hotel as Lagos Builds Out Nigeria’s Charging Network

Qoray has installed three 60kWh DC fast chargers at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island — Lagos' newest public EV charging hub, capable of serving six vehicles simultaneously.

Clean energy company Qoray has commissioned a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the Federal Palace Hotel & Casino on Victoria Island, Lagos, expanding Nigeria’s growing public charging network.

The facility houses three 60kWh dual-gun DC fast chargers that can charge up to six vehicles at once, bringing battery levels from 20 to 80 per cent in 30 to 45 minutes depending on the vehicle model.

Victoria Island Location Targets High-Traffic EV Corridor

Situated in one of Lagos’ busiest commercial and hospitality districts, the station is designed to serve EV owners, fleet operators, and corporate mobility services moving between Victoria Island and Ikoyi.

Qoray CEO Olabanjo Alimi said the Federal Palace Hotel site was chosen to reduce the friction around EV adoption. “Our goal is to remove barriers to EV adoption by building reliable, accessible infrastructure in the places where people work, stay, and connect,” Alimi said.

Federal Palace Hotel & Casino Executive Director Anita Ibru said the partnership fits the hotel’s long-running sustainability agenda. “By introducing EV charging infrastructure onto our premises, we are prioritising convenience for our guests while contributing to Lagos’ clean mobility transition,” she said.

The Victoria Island installation is the latest in Qoray’s Lagos network buildout. The company focuses on distributed clean energy and electric mobility solutions, and has been targeting commercial property owners and hospitality venues as anchor sites.

Nigeria’s EV sector remains small but is drawing increased attention from infrastructure investors as fuel costs rise and global automakers bring more EV models to the market.
