PROS

  1. Segment-leading 585-litre boot, ahead of every direct rival
  2. Up to 359 miles WLTP range on the 85 long-range battery
  3. Strong standard equipment even on the entry-level trim, undercutting Model Y and EV6 pricing

CONS

  1. DC peak charging trails 800V rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6
  2. Not sold in North America, and a heat pump remains a paid option rather than standard fit

The Skoda Enyaq is the mid-size electric SUV that sits at the center of Skoda’s lineup — bigger than the Elroq, more mainstream than the Enyaq Coupe’s sloped roofline, and built to be the brand’s volume EV rather than a halo car. It’s a five-seat crossover riding on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, offered in single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive form. The 2026 model year carries over the 2025 design refresh — new front and rear styling, updated cabin tech — layered on top of the 2024 powertrain overhaul that gave the car bigger batteries and faster charging than the original 2021 launch version.

Powertrain and charging. The Enyaq 60 runs a 59kWh usable battery for a WLTP range of up to 268 miles, while the Enyaq 85 steps up to a 77kWh usable pack and 359 miles WLTP — currently the range leader in the lineup. The all-wheel-drive 85x uses the same 77kWh battery but drops to 332 miles due to the extra motor, and the performance-focused vRS, with a slightly larger 79kWh pack, lands at 344 miles. All variants take up to 11kW on AC. DC peak charging is the more interesting split: the 60 tops out around 165kW, while the larger-battery cars range from 135kW up to 185kW on the vRS, depending on which spec sheet you check — Skoda’s own figures and independent reviewers don’t fully agree here, so treat DC peak numbers as approximate until confirmed on a specific trim. A 10–80% top-up runs roughly 24 minutes on the 60 and 28–29 minutes on the 85 and 85x under ideal conditions.

Pricing, fit, and the competition. UK pricing starts at £39,010 for the Enyaq 60, rising to £44,300 for the long-range 85, £48,750 for the 85x, and £51,660 for the vRS — roughly $50,000 to $66,000 at current exchange rates, though Skoda doesn’t currently sell in North America, so those figures are for reference rather than a real buying option there. This is a car for families and commuters who want a genuinely practical EV without hunting through options lists to get useful range — not a car for anyone chasing 0-60 bragging rights. Inside Skoda’s own range, it sits above the smaller Elroq and below the larger, ICE/hybrid Kodiaq, giving the brand an EV in roughly the same footprint as its best-selling seven-seater. Against outside rivals, it competes most directly with the VW ID.4 (same MEB platform, near-identical range) and the Kia EV6, with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also cross-shopped at this price point. The ID.4 is the closest spec-for-spec match and the natural head-to-head comparison for anyone cross-shopping the two.
