XPeng G6 Review: 2026 EV Redefining Performance and Practicality

0

The redesigned Xpeng G6 positions itself as a strong contender for buyers wanting an all-electric vehicle capable of handling the unpredictable realities of daily driving, from congested city streets to challenging rural roads across the UK.

Updated XPeng G6 Detailed

The XPeng G6 excels with cutting-edge charging technology. It is built around an 80.8 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, a chemistry that avoids costly metals like cobalt, nickel, and manganese while delivering comparable performance.

Paired with XPeng’s 800V High-Voltage SiC platform, this battery achieves a peak charging power of 451 kW. Drivers can charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes, the fastest in its segment. This system also extends battery lifespan by 30 percent. A high-efficiency heat pump, standard across all trims, works with XPeng Heat Boost technology to maintain cabin warmth during cold British winters without sacrificing range.

For power enthusiasts, the all-wheel-drive Performance Black Edition delivers 358 kW and 660 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 4.13 seconds. Its AWD system, enhanced chassis tuning, 20-inch sport alloy wheels, and black-accented exterior provide confident handling and a sport-focused aesthetic.

XPeng invested in over 20,000 incremental refinements for the G6, covering suspension, chassis tuning, and NVH improvements to create a more stable and comfortable ride.

The exterior features a 1942 mm Starlight LED light bar with integrated turn signals, body-colored wheel arches, a redesigned rear diffuser, and a new rear spoiler, maintaining an impressive 0.248 Cd drag coefficient. A Stellar Purple color option completes the updated look.

XPeng G6 Interior

Inside, the cabin balances luxury and practicality. Wood-grain dash trim, suede-effect ceiling, and a Dark Grey theme set a premium tone. Front seats include heating, ventilation, and massage functions, while rear seats recline in 12 positions. Dual 50W wireless charging panels, redesigned speaker covers, and 571 liters of trunk space expandable to 1,374 liters make the G6 family-friendly.

The XOS cockpit system delivers smoother interface transitions, faster app responses, and improved voice recognition. The “Hey XPeng” assistant now offers intelligent recommendations for all four cabin zones.

Safety remains a priority. The battery has a structural safety framework and ballistic-grade armor. The XPILOT ASSIST system provides Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, and Enhanced AutoParking Assist.
