The Volkswagen ID. Unyx 07 is a mid-size pure electric sedan produced by Volkswagen Anhui, the German automaker’s majority-owned Chinese joint venture. It occupies an entry-to-mid position within the ID. Unyx lineup, sitting below the larger ID. Unyx 08 SUV. The vehicle is a rear-wheel-drive, five-seat fastback sedan. It is the first pure electric mid-size sedan from the brand and the first Volkswagen Anhui model built on the CEA (China Electrical Architecture) platform, co-developed with Xpeng.
The ID. Unyx 07 is powered by a single motor producing 170 kW (228 hp) and is equipped with a 60 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 558 km. AC onboard charging rate and DC peak charging speed have not been officially confirmed at launch — those figures remain unannounced as of May 2026. Volkswagen Anhui has confirmed a larger-battery variant will be introduced later in 2026, with full powertrain and charging specs for that version pending. For reference, the platform-sharing ID. Unyx 06 (MEB-based) supports up to 100 kW DC fast charging; whether the CEA-based 07 matches or improves on that figure has not been stated.
The ID. Unyx 07 launched in China in two trim levels — Pure and Pure SE — with guide prices of RMB 129,900 and RMB 139,900 respectively, and limited-time launch prices of RMB 109,900 (~$16,200 USD) and RMB 119,900 (~$17,600 USD). The vehicle is currently a China-only model with no confirmed export plans; grey-market import to Nigeria would place the Pure trim at roughly ₦26–30 million landed, depending on logistics and duties. It suits urban and intercity commuters seeking a practical, technology-equipped sedan at a competitive price point. Within the Volkswagen Anhui lineup, it sits between the ID. Unyx 06 compact coupe SUV (from RMB 145,900) and the ID. Unyx 08 full-size electric SUV (from RMB 229,900). External rivals at a similar segment and price include the Tesla Model 3 and the BYD Seal. The closest direct comparison for spec and price is the Tesla Model 3, which the ID. Unyx 07 slightly exceeds in length while undercutting on launch price.
