What sets this generation apart is factual, not promotional: it’s the first Seal 06 to offer LiDAR-based driver assistance, a feature BYD has historically reserved for pricier models, now paired with an updated Ocean-design body that’s roughly 150 mm longer than its predecessor.

The EV version runs on BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and an 800V high-voltage platform, with two CLTC-rated range options: 530 km and 630 km. These figures follow China’s CLTC test cycle; WLTP or EPA-equivalent numbers haven’t been published and typically land 15–20% lower than CLTC ratings. BYD has not published a Seal 06-specific peak DC charge rate or an onboard AC charging rate as of this writing; the figures above reflect the flash charging system’s general capability rather than confirmed Seal 06 bench-test results.

Pricing, Fit & Context

At launch in China, the 2027 Seal 06 starts at 99,900 yuan (about $14,700) for the DM-i hybrid, with electric versions ranging from roughly 109,900 to 155,900 yuan (about $16,200–$23,000). No international pricing or availability has been confirmed. This is a car built for budget-conscious commuters and small families who want a modern EV without flagship pricing.

Within BYD’s own lineup, the Seal 06 sits above the smaller Dolphin hatchback and below the larger Seal sedan, giving BYD a layered pricing ladder within one platform family. Externally, its closest rivals are the Geely Galaxy A7 EM and the Xpeng Mona M03, both competing in the same sub-$25,000 Chinese EV sedan segment.
