China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released new declaration images for the Chery iCar V23. The filing confirms the launch of Chery’s electric SUV with a battery-swapping option. The Chery iCar V23 uses sharp body lines and a rugged look. The front has round headlights with double-layer parallel LED daytime running lights. The side profile uses an angular shape with flared fenders, hidden door handles and five-spoke wheels.

Design and Dimensions of the Chery iCar V23
The SUV measures 4220 mm in length, 1915 mm in width and 1845 mm in height. Wheelbase stands at 2735 mm. Both versions in the filing look the same. The non-swapping model also uses CATL batteries. The differences come from motor output and curb weight.
The battery-swapping version of the Chery iCar V23 uses a 100 kW motor rated at 134 hp. The non-swapping version uses a stronger 185 kW motor rated at 248 hp. Both run on a single-motor layout. The swapping model weighs 1720 kg and is 15 kg lighter than the 1735 kg non-swapping unit.

The iCar V23 sits in the group of ten Chocolate battery-swapping models released by CATL and five automakers during the Shanghai Auto Show in April. CarNewsChina places the non-swapping model at about 13000 USD. The swapping version targets a price under 8000 USD.
The RWD version on sale today offers 100 kW. The new filing confirms a 185 kW single-motor option. The battery-swapping version stays at 100 kW. More powerful swapping versions may appear later.

As Chery moves into global markets, the Chery iCar V23 will use the name iCaur in markets with trademark conflicts. CATL’s swapping network sits inside China, so the swapping model will remain local. The standard Chery iCar V23 is planned for overseas sales.
