Genesis Electrified G80: What’s New in the 2025 Refresh?

The Genesis Electrified G80 is receiving a major refresh for the upcoming model year, and the updates make this luxury EV more compelling than ever. Revealed at the Busan International Mobility Show in South Korea, the upgraded Genesis EV now offers a longer wheelbase, bigger battery, improved range, and premium interior upgrades designed to keep it competitive in the increasingly crowded electric luxury sedan market.

Bigger Battery & Improved Range

One of the most notable upgrades to the Genesis Electrified G80 is its new 95.4 kWh battery pack, up from 87.2 kWh. This increase delivers an 11% boost in driving range in the Korean market.

While official EPA numbers for the U.S. are still pending, the new configuration is expected to push the EV well past 300 miles of range, outperforming the previous model and making the Electrified G80 a stronger contender among premium electric sedans.

Longer Wheelbase and Enhanced Rear Comfort

Genesis has stretched the wheelbase by 130 mm, and that extra length goes straight to the rear cabin. Passengers in the back now enjoy:

  • More legroom
  • VIP reclining seats with leg rests
  • Seat memory function
  • Rolls-Royce–style EasyClose doors, allowing passengers to close the doors with the push of a button

These upgrades reinforce the Electrified G80’s focus on luxury and passenger comfort, making it ideal for chauffeured experiences.

Futuristic Interior With a Massive OLED Display

Inside, the Genesis Electrified G80 receives a dramatic tech overhaul. The old 14.5-inch screen has been replaced with a stunning 27-inch OLED display that serves as both the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment system.

This new setup creates a minimalist, high-tech cabin that aligns with modern luxury EV trends seen across brands like Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

The exterior has also been refined with subtle but premium updates, including:

  • A redesigned G-Matrix Crest Grille
  • Micro Lens Array (MLA) headlights for improved clarity
  • Additional chrome accents for a more upscale look
  • Standard 19-inch dish-style wheels
  • A slightly revised front bumper

Together, these updates give the Genesis Electrified G80 a sharper, more modern road presence while staying true to its elegant design language.

Pricing and Release Date

Genesis hasn’t yet announced official pricing for the refreshed model, but a slight increase over the current starting price is expected given the added tech and luxury features.

The updated Electrified G80 will debut in South Korea in August, with international markets likely to follow soon after.

With more range, more space, cutting-edge tech, and refined styling, the 2025 Genesis Electrified G80 strengthens its position as one of the most luxurious and capable electric sedans on the market. Electric vehicle shoppers seeking premium comfort and long-distance capability should keep a close eye on this updated model.
