Polestar is expanding its Polestar 3 lineup with a new Long Range Single Motor variant — offering a more affordable entry point into its flagship electric SUV. The new version starts at €93,590 in Europe and delivers an impressive 404-mile (WLTP) range while maintaining the same luxury, technology, and Scandinavian design that define the Polestar 3 experience.
A More Accessible Entry to the Polestar 3 Lineup
“With the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3, we offer consumers a new entry point for our flagship electric SUV,” said Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar. “The rear-wheel-drive configuration fits with our performance-focused driving dynamics that make the car stand out in the luxury SUV sector.”
Despite being the entry-level model, this new Polestar 3 variant doesn’t compromise on performance or premium features. It uses the same 111 kWh battery pack as the dual-motor version and supports 250 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10–80% charge in just 30 minutes.
Performance That Balances Power and Efficiency
The Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 features a rear-mounted electric motor delivering 220 kW (299 horsepower) and 490 Nm of torque. This enables the SUV to sprint from 0–62 mph in 7.8 seconds, while maintaining an efficient balance between performance and long-distance driving capability.
Polestar has also retained the advanced suspension system found in the dual-motor variants, ensuring a composed, comfortable, and confidence-inspiring ride that reflects the brand’s performance DNA.
Design, Customization, and Technology
For 2025, Polestar has refined the customization process for the Polestar 3 lineup. Buyers can personalize their SUV with:
- Six exterior colors
- Five interior themes (“rooms”)
- Four alloy wheel designs, including a new 21-inch wheel available with the Pro Pack
Additionally, customers can now opt for the Pilot Pack with LiDAR from Luminar, offering enhanced driver assistance and safety features — now available on the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 for the first time.
Inside, the SUV maintains Polestar’s signature minimalist luxury cabin, featuring sustainable materials, advanced infotainment powered by Android Automotive OS, and premium comfort features that rival top-tier EVs like the BMW iX and Tesla Model X.
Global Availability and Market Expansion
Initially launching in Europe, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor will expand to North America and Australia later in 2024. This strategic rollout allows Polestar to reach a wider audience of EV enthusiasts seeking a blend of Scandinavian luxury, practicality, and performance.
Even though it’s the most affordable Polestar 3 variant, its price still places it in the premium EV SUV category — appealing to buyers who want refinement and range without stepping up to the dual-motor performance models.
