Tata Motors Nexon EV

The Tata Nexon EV is an electric compact SUV from Tata Motors. It sits in the subcompact SUV segment and uses a five-door crossover body style. The model targets urban drivers who want an electric alternative to small petrol SUVs while keeping similar size and practicality. The Nexon EV shares its platform with the petrol and diesel Nexon but replaces the engine with an electric powertrain.

The Nexon EV comes with two battery options. A 30 kWh pack delivers about 275 km of claimed range, while the larger 45 kWh battery reaches up to 489 km on a full charge under test conditions. DC fast charging up to 60 kW charges the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 40 minutes. AC charging through a 7.2 kW home wall box takes around 6.5 hours for a full charge. The vehicle uses a permanent magnet motor with around 142 hp and 215 Nm torque in the larger battery version.

The Nexon EV sits in the mid-price range of Tata’s EV lineup with prices in India roughly between ₹12.5 lakh and ₹17 lakh depending on battery and trim.
