BYD has revealed the updated Denza D9 EV. The electric MPV gains more power, a heavier battery setup, and the latest driver assistance tech. Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions will be offered.
Powertrain upgrades
The front-wheel-drive Denza D9 EV now uses a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with 340 kW output. Power rises by 110 kW over the outgoing model.
The all-wheel-drive version adds a rear motor rated at 70 kW. Rear motor output increases by 25 kW. Combined system output reaches 410 kW.

This places the updated Denza D9 EV among the most powerful electric MPVs in its segment.
Battery and range expectations
BYD has not released official battery capacity or range figures. Vehicle weight data points to a larger battery pack.
Curb weight rises to 3,015 kg from 2,915 kg. The current AWD model uses a 103 kWh Blade battery with a 600 km CLTC range. Expect a similar or higher capacity in the updated version.
Exterior design
The updated Denza D9 EV keeps the brand’s π-Motion diamond-cut front design. Visual changes remain subtle.
Optional equipment includes multiple wheel designs and alternative front grille styles. A panoramic sunroof comes as standard.

Overall dimensions remain unchanged.

Interior layout and cargo
Second-row seats slide forward and backward but do not fold. Third-row seats both slide and fold.
The luggage compartment offers a 625 mm longitudinal length, targeting family and executive transport use.

Driver assistance system
The updated Denza D9 EV will ship with BYD’s latest God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system. This marks a generational upgrade in sensors and software.

BYD has not announced pricing for the updated Denza D9 EV.
For reference, the 2025 Denza D9 EV lineup in China ranges from 319,800 to 469,800 yuan, or about 46,100 to 67,700 US dollars.
