BYD Tang is a full electric SUV built by Chinese maker BYD. It sits in the large SUV segment with seating for up to seven passengers and a high roof profile typical of family crossovers. It is aimed at buyers who want room and electric power in one package.

The SUV uses a large 108.8 kWh Blade Battery with lithium iron phosphate chemistry. WLTP testing puts range around 530 km per charge, with city range higher. Fast charging up to around 170 kW lets you go from about 30 percent to 80 percent in roughly 30 minutes on a high-power DC charger. Home AC charging at 11 kW will fill the battery overnight.

Pricing for the Tang EV in global markets starts around USD 25,900 for base trims and goes up toward about USD 33,100 for higher trims. The SUV is suited to buyers who need seven seats and frequent long drives but also want electric power and AWD performance. Alternatives to think about include the Tesla Model Y (smaller but strong charging and dealer support) and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (smaller cargo but solid range). Compared with the Model Y, the Tang offers more seating and slightly lower price, while the Model Y generally has faster charging networks in more regions
