Dongfeng Nissan NX8 Launches in China: BEV and EREV from $23,300, Up to 901 Miles Total Range

Dongfeng Nissan has officially unveiled the NX8, a mid-size SUV built exclusively for the Chinese market, priced from CNY 159,900 to CNY 209,900 — roughly $23,300 to $30,700 at current exchange rates.

The NX8 comes in two powertrain configurations: a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV/EREV).

NX8 BEV: Two Battery Options, 12-Minute Fast Charge

The electric version uses either a 73 kWh or 81 kWh LFP battery. CLTC-rated range is 360 miles on the smaller pack and 404 miles on the larger. DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes 17 minutes (73 kWh) or just 12 minutes (81 kWh).

Two rear-wheel-drive powertrains are available: 292 hp (0–62 mph in 7.1 seconds) and 340 hp (0–62 mph in 6.7 seconds).

NX8 EREV: Up to 193 Miles Electric, 901 Miles Total

The EREV variant puts out 265 hp and hits 62 mph from rest in 7.2 seconds. Battery choices are 20.3 kWh, 21.1 kWh, or 43.2 kWh. The first two offer 93 miles of pure EV range (CLTC); the 43.2 kWh pack extends that to 193 miles. Combined range is 820 miles or 901 miles, depending on battery size.

Interior: Snapdragon 8295P, AR HUD, AI Seats

Inside, the NX8 features dual 15.6-inch displays, a 10.25-inch instrument panel, and runs Nissan OS 2.0 with an integrated voice assistant. The infotainment is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip with 256 GB of onboard storage. An AR head-up display equivalent to approximately 63 inches is standard.

Comfort features include AI Zero Gravity Seats, a contactless AI airflow system, motion sickness prevention technology, power-reclining rear seats with ventilation, heating, and massage — plus a bi-directional onboard refrigerator. Cargo space is 773 liters in the boot, with an additional 95-liter frunk.
