A significant milestone in its growing product line will be reached on October 13 when Chinese eVTOL developer Ehang prepares to unveil its next-generation Ehang VT35 long-range pilotless eVTOL.
To further emphasize Ehang’s contribution to the transformation of urban air mobility, the VT35 will be formally unveiled on the two-year anniversary of the company’s flagship EH216-S obtaining its Type Certificate (TC).
What We Know About the Ehang VT35
Ehang described the VT35 as a long-range lift-and-cruise passenger eVTOL aircraft, but it hasn’t revealed any specific details. In order to build excitement for the aircraft’s worldwide debut, the company released teaser posters that featured the aircraft’s silhouette.
Ehang had previously stated on its Q2 2025 earnings call that the VT35 was going through flight trials and internal testing, with an initial September release date.

Strategic Partnership with Hefei
Ehang is working with the Anhui province’s Hefei municipal government to speed up development. They are working together to create a VT35 product hub that will include:
- Research and development
- Testing and certification
- Manufacturing and supply chain management
- Sales and operations
- Talent cultivation
About RMB 500 million ($70.2 million) in government funding has already been obtained for the project, including orders for eVTOL products, investments, and alliances with industrial chains. This program intends to assist China’s low-altitude economic ecosystem and expedite the VT35’s rollout.
Ehang’s Growing eVTOL Ecosystem
Ehang is one of China’s earliest eVTOL manufacturers and has built a diverse portfolio:
- EH216 Series – Flagship passenger eVTOL, with more than 10,000 flights logged in the first half of 2025 across 40 operational sites worldwide.
- VT20 Series – Logistics-focused eVTOL, including an 83 km intercity drone logistics route between Zhuhai and Guangzhou.
- Ehang VT35 – The newest addition, designed as a long-range pilotless eVTOL for passenger transport.
The company secured over 150 new orders in Q2 2025 and delivered 68 EH216 aircraft to 13 corporate clients in China and Japan. Ehang reported RMB 147 million in revenue and a net loss of RMB 81 million for the quarter, despite robust growth.
Why the Ehang VT35 Matters
The next stage of urban and regional air mobility has begun with the launch of the Ehang VT35 long-range pilotless eVTOL. Ehang is establishing itself as a global leader in eVTOL innovation by fusing pilotless flight technology, government-backed infrastructure, and the rising demand for low-altitude transportation.
