Lexus RZ450e F Sport Performance limited edition unveiled

Competing with Nissan’s new Ariya Nismo, Lexus introduced the Lexus RZ450e F Sport Performance, a special edition sports vehicle. However, Lexus neglected the drivetrain in favor of enhanced driving dynamics and aesthetics, in contrast to the Ariya.

Keeping with the regular model, the Lexus RZ450e F Sport Performance crossover keeps the 71.4 kWh battery and two electric motors, giving it a dramatic appearance. Lexus wants to make this electric vehicle feel exclusive since only 100 will be available for purchase in March.

This year’s production model is very similar to the wild RZ Sport Concept shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon. It’s not exactly a Lexus design, though; it looks more like the work of an aftermarket tuner. From the moment you look at the front fascia—which now has blue paint and a carbon fiber splitter—and a big carbon panel placed beneath the headlights, you can see the changes.

To keep the front electric motor well-cooled, the distinctive features continue with a gloss-black hood that contrasts with carbon fiber air outlets. Furthermore, the list of modifications continues with flared front and rear arches that feature carbon fiber aerodynamic winglets. The package is finished off with 21-inch Enkei aluminum wheels painted matte black.

A carbon fiber roof and striking rear elements, such as two fixed wings and a lip spoiler, round out the exterior modifications. Some may find these additions appealing, while others may find them overly extravagant.

The cabin of the RZ450e F Sport Performance features numerous unique touches, such as ultra suede seats, stitching that contrasts between black and blue, a steering wheel made of synthetic leather, an instrument panel embellished with blue accents, scuff plates that read “F Sport Performance,” and sports pedals made of aluminum. These additions improve the interior’s overall aesthetic.

Lexus RZ450e F Sport Performance Price

The same 71.4 kWh battery pack as the standard model powers the RZ450e F Sport Performance’s 150 kW front electric motor and 80 kW rear electric motor. This special edition electric vehicle has a price tag of 11,800,000 yen, or slightly more than $81,000, in Japan.

Note that this is a niche product, even though the RZ450e F Sport Performance provides an interesting combination of performance and luxury. The typical consumer might not think it’s the best option due to its high price tag and limited supply of only 100 units.
