The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric is the brand’s first all-electric version of its long-running C-Class nameplate, built on a dedicated EV platform and not related to the internal combustion engine C-Class. It sits in the compact executive segment and is offered as a four-door sedan, with a fastback-style silhouette that differs significantly from the combustion-powered model.
The lineup spans five variants — C 200 EQ, C 250 EQ, C 300 4MATIC EQ, C 300+ EQ, and C 400 4MATIC EQ — with battery options of 64 kWh, 85 kWh, and 94 kWh depending on trim. The top C 400 4MATIC delivers up to 473 miles of WLTP range from its 94 kWh battery pack. On charging, the larger variants support up to 330 kW on 800-volt infrastructure, adding up to 201 miles of WLTP range in just 10 minutes.
Pricing is expected to start at around $55,000 USD, placing it firmly in the upper end of the compact luxury segment. It targets buyers who want a premium daily sedan with long-range capability and a technology-forward interior. Within the Mercedes-Benz EV lineup, the closest relatives are the GLC Electric (its SUV counterpart on the same platform) and the CLA Electric (a more entry-level option on a different architecture). Key alternatives from rival brands include the Tesla Model 3 and the BMW i3. In direct comparison, the C-Class Electric’s 94 kWh battery is smaller than what BMW fitted inside the i3, though Mercedes still quotes up to 473 miles of range from it.
