MG IM6 is an all-electric SUV in the mid-size premium segment with a coupe-SUV body style. It has seating for five and a sloping roofline aimed at balancing space and aerodynamics.
It uses a large ~100 kWh battery with about 96.5 kWh usable capacity. Rear-wheel-drive Long Range versions reach around 625 km WLTP range. All-wheel-drive Performance trims trade range for power with about 504 km WLTP. The IM6 supports ultra-fast DC charging up to ~396 kW, taking 10 to 80 percent in around 17 minutes under ideal conditions. Home AC charging at 11 kW takes hours.
Price sits above typical mainstream EVs and closer to higher-end electric SUVs in many markets. The IM6 suits drivers who want a spacious SUV with long range and rapid charging. Other MG EVs include MG ZS EV and MG4 EV. Alternatives include Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5. Compared with the MG ZS EV, the IM6 has a larger battery and longer range but costs more.
