The Polestar 6 LA Concept Edition is a limited-production, all-electric 2+2 roadster manufactured by Polestar — the Swedish EV brand jointly owned by Volvo and Geely. It sits at the top of the Polestar lineup as the brand’s most expensive and performance-oriented model. Derived directly from the Polestar O₂ concept unveiled at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 6 is notable as one of the first purpose-built electric open-top sports cars to reach production since the original Tesla Roadster.
It rides on a bonded aluminum platform shared with the upcoming Polestar 5 four-door GT. The LA Concept Edition is restricted to 500 units globally and is built around the O₂’s Sky Blue exterior and distinctive 21-inch wheels — making it a distinct configuration, not merely a color option.
The Polestar 6 is reported to carry a 110 kWh battery pack with a projected range of approximately 595 km (370 miles). However, these figures come from third-party databases and pre-production reports — Polestar has not officially confirmed battery capacity, usable kWh, or certified WLTP range as of publication.
The car is expected to run on an 800-volt electrical architecture, which would support higher DC charging rates, though a peak DC figure has not been announced. Estimated 10–80% DC charging time from unofficial sources stands at around 40 minutes, but this should be treated as a projection until Polestar publishes confirmed specs. AC onboard charging rate is also unconfirmed.
The dual-motor AWD powertrain is anticipated to produce approximately 884 HP and 663 lb-ft of torque, with a 0–100 km/h time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). These performance figures align with Polestar’s own previews but remain subject to change ahead of final production.
The LA Concept Edition is priced at $200,000 USD, with a $25,000 reservation deposit required. All 500 units are reportedly sold out through reservations. No regional pricing for markets outside the US has been officially released. Grey-market import costs for Nigeria, Kenya, or South Africa would add significant duties, port charges, and logistics fees on top of the base price — making a realistic landed cost in those markets well above $250,000 USD equivalent.
This is a car for high-net-worth buyers seeking a low-volume collector EV, not a daily commuter or family vehicle. Within the Polestar range, it sits above the Polestar 4 (a mid-size electric SUV coupe starting around $60,000) and the upcoming Polestar 5 four-door GT (expected in the $100,000+ range). Its primary external rivals are the Tesla Roadster — which remains delayed and is expected to start around $200,000–$250,000 — and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, a performance electric GT at approximately $185,000. The closest direct comparison on price and positioning is the Tesla Roadster, though the Polestar 6 gets to market first.
