The Rivian R1S is a fully electric three row SUV from Rivian. It sits in the premium midsize SUV segment. The R1S shares its platform with the R1T pickup but uses a closed body design with seating for up to seven passengers. It targets families who need space, towing strength, and off road capability in one vehicle.

The R1S offers several battery options. The Standard pack delivers around 270 miles of EPA range. The Large pack provides about 352 miles. The Max pack reaches up to about 400 miles depending on motor setup. Dual motor and quad motor configurations are available. DC fast charging peaks near 220 kW, which adds roughly 140 miles in about 20 minutes under ideal conditions. Level 2 AC charging supports up to 11.5 kW for home setups.

Pricing in the US starts in the mid $70,000 range and rises with larger battery packs and quad motor versions. It suits buyers who need up to 7,700 pounds of towing capacity, three row seating, and adjustable air suspension for rough terrain.
