Chinese electric roadster SC01 will launch in Europe with local assembly planned in Italy. The confirmation came directly from founder Feng Xiaotong via CarNewsChina. Production will be limited to 1,000 units for the European market.
SC01 Background and China Market History
The SC01 was first revealed in China in 2022 under the name Small Sports Car SC-01. The project was developed by Tianjin Gongjiangpai Auto Technology, a performance-focused startup founded by Feng Xiaotong. Xiaomi Group invested tens of millions of yuan in the project, with a Xiaomi co-founder listed as a director.
The project faced early regulatory delays. Sales approval in China arrived three years later through a partnership with JMEV, a brand under state-owned Jiangling Motor Corporation. The car was renamed SC01 and entered the Chinese market in April with a price of 229,800 yuan or about 33,010 USD.

Europe Launch Confirmed With Italian Assembly
In January 2026, the brand confirmed plans to enter Europe. On January 19, the first post appeared on the SC01 Europe Instagram account. The profile describes the car as a true electric sports car developed in Italy for Europe.
CarNewsChina confirmed that European-spec SC01 units will be assembled in Italy. Production volume is capped at 1,000 cars.

Founder Confirms Positioning Against Porsche
Feng Xiaotong confirmed the Europe launch and stated that the SC01 targets Porsche-branded sports cars. An official teaser for the European version is scheduled for January 24. Additional technical and market details are expected during the online presentation.
Expected Price in Europe
According to CarNewsChina sources, the SC01 could cost around 500,000 yuan in Europe. This equals about 71,830 USD or 61,200 EUR. Final European pricing has not been announced.

SC01 Design and Chassis Highlights
The SC01 is a compact electric roadster with styling inspired by Ferrari-era sports cars. Its key engineering feature is a tube-frame chassis. This structure keeps curb weight at 1,365 kg.
For comparison, the electric Mini Cooper weighs about 1,605 kg. The SC01 uses racing dampers, aluminum steering knuckles, and 260 mm brake discs.
Dimensions, Suspension, and Tires
Dimensions measure 4106 mm long, 1830 mm wide, and 1170 mm high. Wheelbase is 2503 mm. The car rides on 245/40 ZR18 tires.
Each wheel uses an aluminum-magnesium alloy and weighs 5.9 kg. Both axles use double wishbone suspension. Center of gravity sits at 380 mm.

Interior Focused on Driving
The interior avoids large touchscreens and advanced driver assistance systems. The layout targets driving engagement.
Features include two sport seats, a suede-wrapped steering wheel, physical climate controls, a button-style gear selector, six speakers, and rear parking sensors.
Powertrain and Performance Specs
The SC01 uses two TZ200XSWMA permanent magnet motors supplied by Empower. One motor sits on each axle. Each produces 160 kW or 214 hp.
Combined system output reaches 320 kW or 429 hp. Power comes from a 60 kWh battery pack. Rated range is 500 km under the CLTC cycle.
Acceleration from zero to 100 km per hour takes 2.9 seconds.
