The XPeng P7 Wing Edition is a limited-production flagship variant of the P7 electric sedan. It shares its mid-size four-door body with the regular P7 but distinguishes itself with a pair of electrically operated scissor front doors—a feature almost unheard of among volume electric sedans. It’s an all-wheel-drive performance model positioned at the top of XPeng’s car lineup, above the standard rear-wheel-drive P7 and the P5 compact sedan.

Powertrain and Real-World Performance

This is an all-wheel-drive electric car with serious acceleration. The dual-motor setup delivers between 348 kW (473 hp) and 430 kW (594 hp) depending on the generation and market, with peak torque ranging from 695 Nm to 757 Nm. In its latest Chinese-market form, the P7 Wing Edition hits 100 km/h from standstill in 3.7 seconds. Older European-spec AWD versions needed 4.1 seconds. Both figures place the car squarely in the sport-sedan performance bracket without entering supercar territory.

Battery capacity varies by model year. Early versions use an 86.2 kWh gross (82.7 kWh usable) NMC pack, while the 2025 China-market update swaps in a 92.2 kWh NMC battery on an 800-volt architecture. Range certification also changes: the NEDC rating for the original AWD version sits at 562 km, the WLTP figure for Europe comes in at 505 km, and the latest Chinese model achieves a CLTC rating of 750 km. In everyday driving, anticipate real-world consumption around 19–20 kWh/100 km, which puts usable motorway range closer to 400–450 km for the WLTP-rated version.

Charging Speed and Day-to-Day Convenience

AC charging happens via an 11 kW onboard charger, filling the battery in about nine hours on a three-phase supply—overnight charging at home is entirely practical. DC fast charging peaks at 175 kW on the 400-volt versions, taking roughly 30 minutes to go from 10% to 80%. The 2025 Chinese model steps up considerably, with an 800V system that can complete the same 10–80% top-up in around 11 minutes using compatible ultra-rapid chargers. These faster charging figures are currently unconfirmed for export markets, so treat them as region-specific until XPeng officially launches the updated P7 Wing Edition internationally.

Price, Positioning, and Who It’s For

XPeng priced the original Wing Edition at RMB 409,900 in China; the all-new 2025 model starts at a lower 301,800 yuan. In Germany, the earlier version was listed at approximately €69,600. This puts the car in premium electric sedan territory, above mainstream family EVs but below flagship luxury offerings from established German brands.

The realistic buyer is someone who wants a distinctive electric performance sedan with visual drama, not a subtle commuter. The scissor doors mean the P7 Wing Edition makes a statement every time you park, but they also require more lateral space to open than conventional doors—something to consider in tight garages or car parks.

Inside XPeng’s own range, the Wing Edition slots in between the standard rear-wheel-drive P7 and the G9 SUV in price and ambition. From a competitive standpoint, its natural external rivals are the Tesla Model 3 Performance and the NIO ET5. Both are all-wheel-drive electric sedans with a similar focus on technology and straight-line speed, and both are available in overlapping price brackets.

Direct Comparison: XPeng P7 Wing Edition vs. Tesla Model 3 Performance

When someone searches for “XPeng P7 Wing Edition vs Tesla Model 3,” the following table sums up the key numbers that matter.

SpecificationXPeng P7 Wing EditionTesla Model 3 Performance
DrivetrainDual-motor AWD, 473–594 hpDual-motor AWD, ~450 hp (estimated)
0–100 km/h3.7–4.1 sec~3.3 sec
Usable battery82.7 kWh (earlier) / 92.2 kWh (2025 China)~75 kWh
WLTP range505 km (European version)~547 km
Peak DC charging175 kW (10–80% in ~30 min)Up to 250 kW
Standout featurePowered scissor front doorsTrack Mode, extensive Supercharger network

The XPeng delivers the novelty of scissor doors and a larger battery, while the Tesla counters with a faster 0–100 km/h time, superior charging network access in many regions, and slightly better WLTP range. Both are quick, connected, and aimed at the same buyer who wants performance without a combustion engine.
