2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Gets More Range and More Luxury
Mercedes-Benz has officially refreshed its flagship electric sedan, the Mercedes-Benz EQS, for the 2025 model year. The update brings a larger battery, improved efficiency, a refined exterior, and a more luxurious rear-seat experience—solidifying the EQS as one of the most premium electric luxury sedans on the market.
Longer Range With a New 118-kWh Battery
A major highlight of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS is its new 118-kWh battery pack, which delivers a significant improvement in driving range.
- WLTP range: up to 400 miles on a single charge
- EPA estimates: yet to be released
Mercedes has also updated the EQS’s regenerative braking software to make energy recovery smoother and more efficient, helping drivers squeeze out a few extra miles in real-world conditions.

Subtle Exterior Refresh for a More Classic Look
The 2025 EQS sports a more traditional luxury sedan appearance.
Key changes include:
- A redesigned grille with elegant chrome slats
- The return of the iconic Mercedes hood ornament, reinforcing its luxury heritage
- Cleaner, more cohesive front-end styling
These tweaks give the EQS a more timeless road presence while maintaining its ultra-modern EV identity.
Rear-Seat Comfort Takes Center Stage
Mercedes has doubled down on comfort—especially for those riding in the back.
New features include:
- Redesigned rear seats with improved materials and cushioning
- Pinnacle trim: almost fully reclining rear seats
- Optional forward-folding front passenger seat for limousine-like legroom
- Heated rear neck and shoulder zones to elevate passenger comfort
The result is one of the most luxurious rear-seat experiences offered in any electric sedan.
Hyperscreen Now Standard Across All Trims
The stunning MBUX Hyperscreen, one of the EQS’s signature features, is now standard on every trim. This massive, seamless display stretches across the entire dashboard, delivering premium infotainment and next-generation digital controls without requiring an upgrade.

Efficiency Gains: Heat Pump and 4MATIC Disconnect Unit
Mercedes has added two major efficiency upgrades to the 2025 EQS:
Standard Heat Pump
Provides more efficient cabin heating, reducing battery drain and improving cold-weather range.
4MATIC Disconnect Unit
On all-wheel-drive models, the front motor disengages when not needed, lowering energy consumption and enhancing real-world efficiency.
These improvements help ensure the Mercedes-Benz EQS remains competitive among long-range electric luxury sedans.
Pricing and Availability
The updated 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS is expected to arrive at dealerships in late 2024. Pricing has not yet been announced, but given the added features and advanced tech, it will remain positioned firmly in the premium EV segment.
