BYD has updated its Yangwang U7 luxury electric sedan for the 2026 model year. New homologation data from China confirms lower energy consumption and a longer driving range. The updated model uses a 150 kWh LFP battery and delivers a certified range of over 1,000 km.
BYD Yangwang U7 Launch and Market Position
The Yangwang U7 launched in China in March 2025. It became the third model under BYD’s Yangwang luxury brand. Pricing starts at 628,000 yuan and goes up to 708,000 yuan. The 2026 update will enter the market shortly.

2026 Yangwang U7 Battery and Energy Consumption
Regulatory data from China confirms the updated Yangwang U7 consumes 17.7 kWh per 100 km. The car uses a 150 kWh LFP battery pack. This results in a certified pure electric range of 1,006 km.
The current model uses a 135 kWh LFP battery. It consumes 19.7 kWh per 100 km and delivers 720 km of CLTC range. Despite a 100 kg weight increase, BYD reduced energy consumption by around 10 percent. Range increased by 206 km.
Yangwang U7 Powertrain Variants and Range
The standard version uses four electric motors with a combined output of 960 kW. This variant achieves the full 1,006 km electric range.
An optional higher-output version produces 1,000 kW. Due to higher power demand, its electric range drops to 860 km. Both versions rely on a quad-motor setup.
Yangwang U7 Dimensions and Performance
The Yangwang U7 measures 5,265 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,517 mm in height. Wheelbase stands at 3,160 mm. Each permanent magnet motor produces 240 kW.
The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The chassis supports rear-wheel steering, hydraulic suspension, and electronic vertical body control.

Yangwang U7 PHEV Option
BYD also offers the Yangwang U7 as a plug-in hybrid. This version combines four electric motors with a 2.0-liter engine. Battery capacity is 52.4 kWh. Electric-only range reaches 200 km. With a 60-liter fuel tank, total driving range extends to 1,000 km.
