In a major step toward accelerating India’s electric mobility transition, Mahindra has officially launched its Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network, featuring exclusively 180 kW public charging stations. The company intends to improve India’s national EV charging ecosystem and facilitate smooth long-distance electric travel with an ambitious plan to install 1,000 charging stations by 2027.
Mahindra Targets 1,000 Ultra-Fast Charging Points by 2027
Mahindra intends to build 250 charging stations with 180 kW dual-gun chargers each, for a total of more than 1,000 high-speed charging locations across the country. The Government of India’s goal to improve EV infrastructure and promote widespread EV adoption is in line with this expansion.
The Charge_IN network serves as a foundational pillar of Mahindra’s vision to “UNLIMIT electric mobility,” enabling shorter charging times and enhanced accessibility for EV users across India.
First Charge_IN Stations Inaugurated on Key Highways
Mahindra has inaugurated the first two Charge_IN ultra-fast charging stations at strategic national highway locations:
Hoskote on NH 75 (Bengaluru–Chennai Highway)
Murthal on NH 44, about 50 km from Delhi
Each site features two 180 kW chargers, allowing simultaneous fast charging for up to four EVs—a significant milestone in developing India’s high-speed EV charging backbone.

Ultra-Fast Charging for Mahindra’s eSUV Lineup
The Charge_IN network will support Mahindra’s upcoming and existing electric SUVs, including:
XEV 9e
BE 6
XEV 9S (upcoming)
These models can charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, making long-distance EV travel more convenient, predictable, and stress-free. Combined with real-world ranges of up to 500 km, Mahindra aims to boost consumer confidence in electric mobility.
Open Access Charging via Me4U and Charge_IN Apps
Mahindra eSUV owners can use the Me4U app to:
Find nearby charging stations
Start and stop charging
Make digital payments
Through Me4U, customers already have access to ~34,000 public charging points across major charge point operators, including the Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network.
Additionally, the Charge_IN network will be brand-agnostic, enabling EV users from any manufacturer to charge via:
Charge_IN by Mahindra app
Partner EV charging aggregator platforms
Highway-Focused Charging With Customer Convenience
Charge_IN stations will be positioned along key highway corridors and co-located with:
Restaurants
Cafés
Washrooms
Relaxation zones
This ensures EV drivers can comfortably take a break while their vehicles receive a rapid ultra-fast charge.
Mahindra Leadership Reaffirms Commitment to Clean Mobility
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., and Executive Director – Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., stated:
“Electric mobility is a shift toward cleaner, sustainable transportation. With our ultra-fast Charge_IN network, we aim to create an open and accessible system for all EV users. Long-distance driving should be as effortless and reliable as conventional travel.”
Strengthening India’s EV Charging Backbone
With its exclusive 180 kW chargers, expanding national footprint, and seamless app-based access, the Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network is set to become a core component of India’s future EV ecosystem. Mahindra’s initiative will further accelerate EV adoption and deliver truly convenient long-distance electric mobility across the country.
