Porsche and Frauscher have taken their electric partnership further with the new Frauscher x Porsche 790 Specter. The project builds on four years of joint development and shifts from adapting an existing boat to creating a fully new electric platform.
Frauscher x Porsche Partnership Explained
The collaboration began when Porsche approached the Austrian shipyard to apply automotive electric technology to boats. This led to the Frauscher 850 Fantom Air and later the E-Fantom. The E-Fantom set a Monaco Energy Boat Challenge record with an average speed of 49.84 knots over two one kilometre runs. It remains the fastest electric boat in the event’s history.
What Makes the 790 Specter Different
The 790 Specter marks a full reset. Unlike earlier models, it does not rely on a modified hull. Naval architect Harry Miesbauer designed the hull specifically for an electric drivetrain. Stefan Everwin handled the surface design. Both teams aimed to blend Porsche engineering with Frauscher boatbuilding from the ground up.

Design and Customization Details
Customization plays a central role. The exterior uses Porsche Paint to Sample Dark Teal Metallic. Inside, the layout mirrors Porsche interiors. You get five circular gauges, a Porsche steering wheel, and a driving mode selector. All materials are marine grade, built to withstand saltwater and UV exposure.
Electric Power and Performance
The 790 Specter uses the same electric propulsion system as the record setting E-Fantom. Output reaches 400 kW peak power and 170 kW continuous power. Porsche and Frauscher state that the new hull design leaves room to exceed the existing speed record.
Why Porsche Is Entering the Marine Segment
Porsche says internal data shows about one third of its customers either own a boat or plan to buy one. This insight pushed the brand to extend electric mobility beyond cars and into marine applications.

Macan Turbo Concept Links Car and Boat
To highlight the crossover, Porsche revealed a Macan Turbo Concept finished in the same color as the 790 Specter. Wood from the Frauscher deck appears in the floor mats, door panels, and luggage area. The seats use the same marine fabric. The car showcases what Porsche’s Sonderwunsch customization program supports.
Availability and Launch Timeline
The Frauscher x Porsche 790 Specter goes on sale in spring 2026. Distribution runs through exclusive importer Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli.
Electric Porsche Cayenne Makes German Debut
Alongside the boat, Porsche presented the fully electric Cayenne in Germany. It joins the existing combustion and hybrid models, which stay in production.
Electric Cayenne Performance and Charging
The Cayenne Turbo becomes Porsche’s most powerful production vehicle to date. Output reaches up to 1,156 hp. Acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h takes 7.4 seconds. DC fast charging supports up to 400 kW, enabling a 10 to 80 percent charge in under 18 minutes. Wireless inductive charging is also available.
Space and Towing Capacity
The electric Cayenne is longer than the combustion version. Rear passenger space increases, and a 90 litre front trunk is added. For boat owners, the key figure is towing capacity. At up to 3.5 tonnes, it ranks among the highest in the electric segment and supports towing the full Frauscher x Porsche lineup.
