Porsche has officially started producing the new Cayenne Electric at its Bratislava, Slovakia factory. For the first time, this electric SUV is built on the same assembly line as gas-powered and hybrid models. This flexible setup lets Porsche adjust production based on customer demand.
Advanced “Skateboard” Chassis and Factory Upgrades
The Cayenne Electric uses a specialized “skateboard” chassis. To support this, the DevÃnska Nová Ves factory added a new hall for electric frame assembly. Nearly 90% of the work in the body shop is performed by robots, using advanced tools such as laser welding and 300 meters of specialized glue to secure aluminum and steel components.
Cayenne Turbo Electric: Porsche’s Most Powerful SUV
The top-tier Cayenne Turbo Electric delivers 850 kW (1,156 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. It features a world-first double-sided battery cooling system that keeps battery cells at the optimal temperature.

Base Model Performance and Range
The base Cayenne Electric has 300 kW (402 hp) for everyday driving, which can increase to 325 kW (435 hp) using “Launch Control.” Both versions share a 113 kWh battery, offering over 373 miles of range per full charge.
Porsche Smart Battery Shop: Self-Made Modules
Porsche now produces its own battery modules at the Smart Battery Shop in Horná Streda, 62 miles from the main factory. Using precision machines, the company stacks and welds battery cells to ensure top quality. The 800V technology supports ultra-fast charging, adding 202 miles in just 10 minutes at compatible chargers.

Futuristic Interior and Practical SUV Features
The Cayenne Electric features Porsche’s largest interior screen area yet. A 14.25-inch curved OLED display stretches across the dashboard, while a dedicated screen allows the front passenger to manage navigation or media. The SUV seats five, offers 781 liters of trunk space (1,588 liters with folded rear seats), and can tow up to 3,500 kg.
Pricing and Availability
In the U.S., the base Cayenne Electric starts at $109,000, while the Turbo version is $163,000. European prices are higher, starting at €128,700 for the base and €200,200 for the Turbo. Porsche will also introduce a wireless 11 kW charging floor plate in 2026. Deliveries begin in late summer 2026.
