The Porsche Taycan is a premium electric executive car. It sits in the E segment and targets performance focused buyers. The Taycan uses a four door fastback body, with an additional Cross Turismo estate variant for added practicality. It was Porsche’s first full battery electric production model.

The Taycan offers two battery sizes depending on trim. The Performance Battery Plus provides a gross capacity of 93.4 kWh. WLTP range reaches up to about 678 km in updated rear wheel drive versions. The car runs on an 800 volt system and supports DC fast charging up to 320 kW in the latest models. Under ideal conditions, 10 to 80 percent charging takes around 18 minutes. AC charging is rated at 11 kW, with higher options in some markets.

Pricing places the Taycan in the upper premium sedan segment. It suits drivers who want sharp steering, strong acceleration, and low center of gravity handling. Within the brand, buyers can also consider the Porsche Macan Electric and the Porsche Cayenne Electric. Main alternatives include the Tesla Model S and the Audi e-tron GT. Compared with the Tesla Model S, the Taycan focuses more on chassis feedback and braking consistency, while the Tesla leads in straight line range and software integration.
