YangWang U7 is a large luxury electric sedan from BYD under its premium Yangwang brand. It sits in the flagship EV sedan segment and targets buyers who want high performance and long driving range in a four-door body style. The car uses a quad-motor all-wheel-drive system with total output around 960 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 2.9 seconds. The body measures over 5.2 meters long with a long wheelbase, placing it in the same size class as large executive electric sedans.
The 2026 model introduces a large Blade battery pack around 150 kWh with a CLTC range up to about 1,006 km depending on variant. Earlier versions used a 135.5 kWh pack with about 720 km CLTC range. Fast charging improves with BYD’s next-generation battery system and flash-charging network, enabling rapid charging in a few minutes under ideal conditions. Some versions reach about 70% charge in under five minutes with high-power charging infrastructure.
Pricing places the U7 in the premium EV segment. The 2026 lineup ranges roughly from 658,000 to 888,000 yuan depending on configuration. It suits buyers seeking a large luxury electric sedan with long range and high output rather than an entry-level EV. Other models from the same brand include the YangWang U8 and YangWang U9. Alternatives in the high-performance luxury EV segment include the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. Buyers often compare the U7 with the Tesla Model S due to similar performance and flagship positioning.
